how to pack the ceramic mug

How to pack the ceramic mug so that it will not be damaged?

Ceramic mugs are damaged during transportation, which is a headache for many ceramic mug distributors. So what kind of packaging material to choose and how to pack it to reduce the damage of ceramic mugs? First of all, ceramic mugs are fragile, and the safest packaging cannot 100% guarantee that ceramic mugs will not be damaged. However, we can reduce the transportation damage of ceramic mugs by understanding the packaging materials, models, and packaging methods.

1. Packaging requirements for ceramic mugs:

1). The ceramic mug should be firm, fastened and fixed in the outer packing box. The fixing method of the coffee mug in the box can adopt cushioning material. Ceramic mugs must have cushioning material in the middle of the outer packaging to avoid damage during transportation. There should be a certain gap between the whole packaged ceramic mug and the side, top and bottom of the box.

2). The packaging box for ceramic mugs should be clean, dry and free of foreign matter.

3). After the carton is sealed, it can be tied with plastic tape or adhesive tape.

4). The packing box should have sufficient strength. The packing box has no obvious damage and deformation. And meet the relevant standards and design requirements.

5). The buffer material between the carton and the ceramic cup should be soft in texture, not easy to get insects, and not easy to grow mold. Commonly used cushioning materials are: dry wood wool, polystyrene foam, high foaming polyurethane plastics, low foaming and high foaming polyethylene, polystyrene, composite foaming plastics, sponge rubber, plastic air cushions, etc. The cushioning material should fit snugly with the ceramic mug and the outer packing box.

6). The protective function of ceramic coffee cup packaging should meet the requirements of moisture-proof, mildew-proof, rust-proof and shock-proof.

2. Selection of packaging materials

1). Selection of cushioning material

By analyzing the logistics characteristics of the ceramic cup and the characteristics of the product itself, the design of the cushioning packaging can only be completed by selecting the appropriate cushioning packaging material PP, performing the size calculation and structural design of the cushioning liner, and performing verification.

As a traditional cushioning packaging material, foamed plastic has good cushioning and shock absorption. It has the advantages of light weight, good protection and wide adaptability. This foamed plastic can fit closely according to the shape of the ceramic mug. It protects ceramic mugs very well.

Styrofoam was once the dominant cushioning packaging material. However, due to the use of traditional expanded polystyrene Freon will destroy the ozone layer of the atmosphere. In addition, waste foamed plastics are bulky and difficult to recycle, so they are gradually replaced by other environmentally friendly cushioning materials.

At present, the main alternatives to polystyrene foamed plastics are foamed PP, corrugated cardboard and pulp molding. Although expanded PP does not destroy Freon, it has similar cushioning properties to expanded polystyrene.

Corrugated cardboard has the advantages of large bearing capacity, good cushioning, not easy to deform, high strength, environmental protection, and low cost. It can be prefabricated into various shapes instead of foamed plastic, suitable for bulk packaging of ceramic cups, and more suitable for color box packaging of a single ceramic mug. It is cheap and convenient for printing custom patterns and marks.

Pulp molded products are also packaging materials that can replace expanded polystyrene. It is mainly made of paper or other natural plant fibers through pulping, molding and drying. It can design a specific cavity structure according to the shape of the ceramic mug to meet the different requirements of the product. This product has good adsorption, waste can be degraded, and can be stacked for storage. However, pulp molding has poor resilience, weak shock resistance, and high production costs.

2). Selection of packaging materials for ceramic cups

Outer packaging is an effective way to protect ceramic mugs from damage. In addition, relevant customer information and brand information can be printed on the packaging box. It is usually required that the outer packaging of the ceramic cup should have a certain compressive strength and breakage resistance. It can protect the whole box of ceramic mugs from damage during transportation and storage.

The most typical and most commonly used ceramic cup outer packaging is corrugated carton. Corrugated boxes are also the most used packaging containers at present. Commonly used outer packaging for fragile products is mostly 3-layer or 5-layer corrugated cardboard.

Corrugated cardboard generally has four corrugated types: A, B, C, D, and E. A, B, and C corrugated paper can be used to make ceramic cup packaging cartons. The difference between them is: A-type flute is higher and sparser, and its compressive strength is low; B-type flute is lower, denser, and its compressive strength is higher; C-type is in between. The choice of cardboard with different flute types or different layers to make cartons is mainly based on the protection degree of ceramic cups and the strength requirements against compression.

In the past, due to the backward transportation conditions in China and the phenomenon of brutal loading and unloading, China had the largest demand for 5-layer corrugated boxes, accounting for about 70%. However, with the improvement of transportation conditions in recent years, the application of 3-layer corrugated boxes has increased year by year.

3. Common packaging for ceramic mugs

The packaging of a small amount of ceramic cups is different from the packaging of a large number of ceramic cups. A small number of ceramic mugs are mostly sample packages. Because most of the samples are sent through express channels, high foamed polyethylene and corrugated cardboard are used for packaging ceramic cups. First, wrap the ceramic mug with high-expansion polyethylene (bubble bag), and fix it with tape. The thickness of the bubble bag should not be less than 1CM. After the packaging of multiple ceramic cups is completed, they are put into corrugated boxes. Corrugated cartons are used as the outer packaging of ceramic cups, which require appropriate size and strength. Wrap bubble bags on the bottom, top and sides of the corrugated box, and put the wrapped ceramic cups into it. Finally, the corrugated boxes are sealed with tape.

When transporting large quantities of ceramic cups, corrugated cardboard is often used for packaging. Because of the ceramic cups in the container, many of them use the logistics method. A large number of ceramic mugs need to be loaded into containers. After the ceramic cups are loaded into containers at Xinxiang Ceramic Mug Manufacturer, they are transported to the port by car, and then loaded into ships by tower cranes and transported by sea. Because there is basically no violent transportation on the way, the entire container has an extra layer of protection for the ceramic cups. Therefore, a large number of ceramic cups are transported in corrugated paper trays and corrugated paper outer boxes.

A single corrugated tray can hold 12 straight 11oz ceramic coffee mugs with handles. A corrugated outer box can hold 4 layers of corrugated boxes. That is, a box contains 12X4, 48 ceramic mugs. Of course, the sizes of the trays and outer boxes required for ceramic cups of different shapes are different, and the ceramic cups contained in the whole box are also different.
